About Mali :

Capital : Bamako

Official languages : French

Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world, with 65% of its land area desert or semi-desert, and several prolonged periods of drought occurring ther over the last century.
Economic activity is largely confined to the riverine area irrigated by the Niger river. About 10% of the population is nomadic and some 80% of the labor force is engaged in farming and fishing.
This country of western Africa lacks important resources, deserves, like some othes countries that we turn our attention to helping them.

 

 

About Fougala:


Fougala, located in Mali, is a village of the district of Nyamina, in the administrative region of Koulikoro.
Located 200 km from Bamako.
- climate of dry Sudanese type:

  • important village: 3000 inhabitants.

  • ethnic groups: Bambaras, Fulani and Sonninkés.

  • main economic activity:

Agriculture is the only source of income of the inhabitants. But the pluviometric irregularities raise many problems.

- second activity: the breeding of cattle, ovine, goats...

Breeding is done by Fulany in general.

Small businesses are a source of additional income.
